Curly Lashes For Real
Ok, so my lashes are dead straight (you know, cuz I got Indian in my fam-ly), and I've tried all types of mascaras, bought all kinds of curlers.....alas, to no avail. BUT, I've discovered that heating your curler with a blow dryer works! Please be careful....do not heat for more than about 10-15 seconds. Curler should be warm, not HOT. Good luck!

Nice Look...
Aside from her semi-annoying diction, I like this look. It's a good everyday, not too "in your face" makeup...
Shimmer for my cocoa skin ladies...
I don't like that they added music to this tutorial (why does everything have to be a music video?), but I do like the end result of this tutorial...
Bronzed Look
Here's a good tutorial I found for a bronzed look. This look is good for any skin tone...

A tutorial I found interesting
If I've given you any recommendations for colors, you probably own Coppering, All that Glitters and different golds...anyway, I thought this girl put her makeup together nicely, so I thought I'd share!

Thin Hair No More!
My hair is thin, especially at the crown. I just got a weave, which I LOVE, but if the wind blows the wrong way.....track city. Anyway, a friend of mine told me about Super Million Hair, fibers you sprinkle on the thinning parts and voila! Instant thickness. I went online and saw that Toppik makes the same thing but is less expensive, so I ordered it. It really really works ladies! I will ALWAYS keep it on hand from now on...

Who says ya gotta pay a million bucks to look good? Phooey! Ladies, sometimes the best products are in your local drugstore. So, I'm doing my future sister's wedding makeup test-run (sister-in-law is just to much to say/type all the time), and she shows me the contents of her makeup bag. She busts out with this yellow lipstick looking thing. Hhhmmmm, I wonder, what's this? She tells me she uses it because she has bad circles under her eyes and she SWEARS by this product. So what do inquisitive minds do? I went and looked for it today. It's by Maybelline, no more than $4 bucks. Yellow corrector for under eye circles. Took it home, tried it, and me likey! I even took a pic of myself to see if the flash makes it surface, and nope! Blends nicely. If your complexion is darker (NC50 and higher, in MAC-talk) then it may not be for you. Don't worry, I'll find something that is. But everyone
else, add this product to your repertoire. Thanks sis!

Eye Liner, what should I use?
So, I solicit my friends for makeup questions, and one lovely lady asked me abut eye liner. What type of eye liner should you use? Well, it all depends on the effect you want to give. Liquid eyeliner is best to create winged eyes, pencil liners (like the powerpoint MAC liners) are also good if you want precise lines but maybe not as sharp as liquid. Khol liners are best if you want a smudged effect. Hope this helps!

Your Hands Are The First To Go!!!
Hello ladies. A few of you have asked me this, so I've decided to blog about it. Some of you have "problem" cuticles, and have asked what you can do to keep them in check. Wear.Gloves.When.You.Clean. I cannot express this enough! Ladies, you are all beautiful and we want to keep our youth as long as we can, so we go out and get all sorts of face creams (oh sorry, maybe that's just me), but our hands look haggard! You should put lotion on EVERY TIME YOU WASH YOUR HANDS (my good friends know I recommend Sally Hansen hand lotion), you should use cuticle oil, and for the love of all that is holy, WEAR GLOVES. And that's all I have to say about that...

Tested Anti-Aging cream
I've been using Avon's Anew line, in the blue jars, for a few months now. My skin is oily, so anti-aging products have always turned me off because they always seemed to add oil. Yuk! But I really like this product line. If you try it, let me know how it works for you!

Summertime!
It's warm enough to show some leg and to wear short sleeves, but not warm enough to lay out in the sun (although as a makeup artist I'm inclined to tell you that you shouldn't "lay out"), so what do you do to get some color??? I started using L'oreal Sublime Bronze. It doesn't leave my skin orange, and gives me a nice tan. You can use the lotion or the spray, although if you use the lotion you have to be really careful to rub it in evenly. So ladies, if you don't want to spend money on airbrush tanning ($40 a pop), get L'oreal Sublime Bronze.

Love this woman
Eve Pearl's book Plastic Surgery Without the Surgery, The Miracle of Makeup Techniques, is a staple in any makeup artists' collection. Check out her tutorial
Makeup Geek Extraordinare
When I first starting perusing (did I spell that right?) YouTube, of course I looked for makeup stuff. This girl is one of the first I found and I've been hooked since. Check it out.
Creases are for your pants, not your eyeshadow...
My skin gets very oily, so I find that my eyeshadow creeps up to my eylid crease and turns into one line, making me look crazy. Does this happen to you??? I was using De-Crease by L'oreal, which works, but it's tinted a light color, so it made my lids look lighter. But Urban Decay now sells a product called "Eyeshadow Primer Potion" and IT WORKS IT WORKS IT WORKS!!! It has a wand and what I do it put some on with the wand then rub it with my finger. Let it dry, then apply your shadow. It will stay put for HOURS, seriously! I mean, to the point where it's not so easy to take off at the end of the day. Anywho, let me know if you like it!
Length, Volume, Curl...pick your poison
Hello ladies. Mascaras are those things that I'm never loyal to. I don't have one brand that I stick with, the way I do shadows and everything else. But I may have found one that I'll let stick around. Maybelline's The Colossal Volume Express really adds volume to my lashes. It contains collagen, which acts as a "plumping" agent. I know many of you like Fiberwig, but I ain't got Fiberwig money right about now. So, this does the trick...if you try it, let me know what you think!

My First Blogspot Post
Hello fellow makeup whores! I'm a little hungover from last night's festivities, so I don't have my mind right to get deep into my absolute love for all things makeup, so for now I'm just going to wish you a Happy New Year, and I hope you have fun reading my blog!!!
